Circle Park hike

We did a couple of hikes on our camping weekend. This was on Memorial Day...a hike of about 4 miles, maybe 5. It was lovely. Everything is so green right now as we've had so much rain. The wildflowers were in bloom...lupine, and ...all the others I don't know the names of! I was going to try sounding knowledgeable, but I simply don't know what the flowers are.

(Ask for help, Darla. It's your homework for the week to ask for help.) OK, OK...What is this wildflower?

Jonathan enjoyed being in the backpack, but did hike about 1/2 mile. He did really well, except he doesn't drink water when we tell him to. Does anyone know if anyone makes a child size Camelback? I haven't taken the time to look yet...

Annisia rode in the front pack which was great for getting a nap. However, when I turn her around, her center of gravity shifts and makes it hard to hike with her in front. SO! I think we'll be getting another backpack. Bella, our dog, enjoyed the outdoors too!

There's our truck and trailer in the aspen grove at the center of the photo. This is about mid way on our hike.
We got back to the trailer around 2pm and made some lunch. Jonathan didn't really want to eat, just sleep. He felt pretty warm to the touch at that time. We packed up and came home arriving around 5pm. That evening we all took a hot tub together and we checked Jonathan's temp. It was around 102. That night, he came into our room around 2pm, burning up. His temp was 104.5 I think. Michael felt like he was headed for another seizure, but he didn't actually have one. He ran a temp, 103.5 average, all day Tuesday, with no other symptoms again. Wednesday, he had some tummy trouble and rested a lot. By Thursday, he was fine.

Memorial Day weekend

We bought a travel trailer! Now Michael will get me camping. We decided to go up into the mountains over Memorial Day. We camped in this grove of aspens...a pleasant spot by the creek. The weather was perfect for relaxing and hiking.

The kids and I chilled after our hike. They really did well, for the most part. Being in the trailer is a novelty, so napping was a difficulty. Well, actually, quite impossible. However, Mommy did well letting the dirt happen! Kudos to me!

Daddy has the whole hammock thing down pat. However, this hammock has a hole in it and it's big enough for Jonathan to plum fall out of! Oops!

We saw about 8 moose munching down by the creek about 1/4 mile from our camp. Early Memorial Day morning, Michael walked up here where we had seen them the evening before. He came nearly face to face with one! So he shot a couple pics, then came back to camp and we all drove back to see them again as its' not really a good idea to hike into a camp of moose with 2 small kids.

We plan to go back to this same spot this fall. Won't it be lovely with the aspen leaves turning? And the moose will have their antlers, a really great sight for all of us. I think that's the front of Cloud Peak in the background. Anyone want to come hike it with Michael? I don't think he'll get me to do it again! (heehee)

Playing Together

We've finally reached an age where some playing together is occuring. Usually, Jonathan expects Annisia to do something complicated like he is like riding his trike, or pedaling his loader, but occasionally he is OK with...

sharing his go-go car,

...or his motorcycle...

...or his backhoe loader.

But, that's occasionally, mind you!

Pooh time...

Well, one can get tired of the other kind of poo, but never this Pooh! We love this little outfit and it looks so cute on both kids, doesn't it?!
This is Jonathan when he was 9 months old...
And Annisia when she was 10 months.

A Little of This and a Little of That...

What else have we been doing?
Well, Jonathan has been getting cuter and more imaginative, (and sassier!).
And he's been learning to dress himself! I tried to tell him he was upside down, but he said, "no...".
Annisia is standing unsupported for 10-15 seconds! Yesterday, she was standing, then squatted to the ground, stood up, squatted again, stood then fell. But all unsupported! She's getting stronger and ready to walk. Every time we stand her then step away and say, "Come on", she just slowly sits down and crawls over!

What have we been doing?

What have we been doing, you ask? Why haven't we posted anything for SO long? Well, things just get a little nuts here sometimes, and I can't get on the computer to get anything done. SO! Here's a little catch-up again.
Annisia discovered the bookshelf...
And fell one day and got a fat lip...
We go out to the sandbox often these days. She isn't so sure about wet sand, but overall, I think she likes playing there.
Jonathan loves the "ladder" Daddy put up for him. It is a piece of railing we removed from our deck when we added on. It's a great ladder and Jonathan likes to go to the top! Here he is using his outside voice; most vociferously, I might add!

Jonathan got a backhoe!

Here is Jonathan. He got this great backhoe loader from Grandma and Papa...I think they spoil him, don't you?!
