June 2008

OK, here we go again. I am sorry for being so far behind with these posts. It has been a busy summer. Below are pics of the kids with Daddy at convention in Cody. Jonathan really got a kick out of playing in the trees between meetings.
He pretended this tree was an excavator. I think he's even making excavator noises and raising and lowering the "boom" here. Gotta love the imagination!
Then we went to ND for my 20 yr high school reunion. We got to see Uncle Lowell, who loves to harass Jonathan and snuggle with Annisia. Here, he is telling Jonathan he can't come onto his sidewalk, likely because Jonathan was being possessive of everything, which is typical right now.

Annisia got some good snuggle time in with Grandpa.

And after we went to the pool, Jonathan got to ride Cassies 4 wheeler again.

Why did I have kids?!

To do chores, of course!
Here is 2 year old Jonathan taking out his own dirty diapers! Atta boy!
They can shovel the sidewalks,
keep the vehicles in top condition,
wash the windows,
and cars,
vacuum the floors,
(even if the vacuum cleaner is a very complicated machine!)
use the "magic wand" to dust (ahem, under the car seats?!)
wash the car again,
mop the floor,
cook dinner,
scrub the floor,
unload the dishwasher,
and clean the shower!

Why did I have kids? Because there is a lot of work to get done around here! That's why!

Oh, deer, deer, deer

These muley bucks decided to show their faces in our subdivision again. We haven't had deer here since about 2001 or 2002. The antelope continued traipsing around but the deer apparently were scared away by all the development in the area. This spring, these bucks showed up in our yard. This bold guy came right up into our yard and started munching on our apple trees. That's where we drew the line! I went and bought Liquid Fence (whooee, does that stuff ever stink!) and they don't come into the yard any more. Can you see this guy's antlers through the branches?
A week later, they were back. It seems like they go off and tell their friends about this great yard with apple trees, plum trees, roses, rhubarb, and great clover! Then more come the next time. On this day there were four.

Jonathan scared them away with his antelope shooing expertise!

Annisia sings the ABCs, and more catch up...

Got cream cheese?

Mommy's tennis shoes are too big.

So sweet and cute in my summer dress and bonnet...
Thanks Aunty Janice and Uncle Paul for the cute outfit!

Smile, Jonathan!

OK...trying to catch up...

Jonathan and Annisia hamming it up for the camera...I think Annisia has a mouthful of snack. This pic was taken May 25, 2008.

These were our apple blossoms. We have had quite a bit of wind lately and have lost most of our apples, though. A bummer...

Here is a coat and hat hanger we put up for the kids. Michael cut and finished the wood, I cut out the lion and bear from that craft foam stuff and glued it all together, and Michael put the hooks on and hung it. Isn't it cute? The kids love having it right where they can reach it and rarely have a problem hanging their coats when asked.
My columbine was beautiful this year. It is spreading all over though. I seem to miss harvesting it before it drops even more seeds. Does anyone know if columbine will take on colors it grows next to? Some of mine seem to be darker than others.

Paperback Swap!

OK, so I am way behind with this again, but I had to tell you about this "new" cool service I was told about by a friend. It's called "paperback swap". Go check it out. There's also a link on my side panel. And if you want to do it, list me as a referral! My nickname is "markdarla". Heehee, more book credits! No, really, it's a great idea and it's free right now (except for the cost of shipping your book). The website does a better job of describing it, so I'll be quiet now...

Happy swapping, and keep checking back. Soon I'll get this updated again!

I am a Daffodil!

I am a

What Flower
Are You?

You have a sunny disposition and are normally one of the first to show up for the party. You don't need too much attention from the host once you get there as you are more than capable of making yourself seen and heard.

I found this on a friend's blog and thought it was neat. Do it yourself!
